Self Saucing Chocolate Sponge Pudding

My daughter passed this on to me, its a really scrummy pudding that is done in the slow cooker and when you serve it there is a scrummy chocolate sauce at the bottom
3-oz butter
¾ cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup superfine sugar
1½ cup self-rising flour
2 Tbsp cocoa powder
1 egg, beaten lightly
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 Tbsp cocoa powder, extra
2½ cup boiling water
  • Directions

Grease 4½ -quart slow cooker bowl.
Melt butter in milk over low heat in medium saucepan. Remove from heat; cool 5 minutes. Stir in extract and sugar, then sifted flour and cocoa, and egg. Spread mixture into cooker bowl.
Sift brown sugar and extra cocoa evenly over mixture; gently pour boiling water evenly over mixture. Cook, covered, on high, about 2½ hours or until center is firm.
Remove bowl from cooker. Stand pudding 5 minutes before serving.

    Sponge mixture in the pot

sugar and cocoa sprinkled on top

    Boiling water added

All cooked ready to be eaten and yes there is sauce at the bottom
Got a bit of crafting done today, when we had a refit in the shop last summer one of these MDF words got damaged so when I came across it the other day I thought I would decorate it and give it a second life as a sample in the shop, so here it is all glittered up ready to go on display.
