Just Potting On

Today I was potting on the Tomatoes
The next will be in the ground in the poly tunnel, some of these could have done with a cane for support earlier,  but they will come on. I still another half a dozen but they are not ready yet for moving on.
I also moved on the Lupins
I have managed to grow 22 lupin plants from seed, they will not really come to anything until next year but it is a big money saver growing from seed rather than buying plants in, the flower seeds i am growing on have come free with magazines or have been gifts. Once they are potted on they get moved from the greenhouse to the small poly tunnel which is cooler its just like a big cold frame.
I made a start on pricking out plants as well, I don't really enjoy pricking out and always try to sow seeds individually in plug trays.

I was being serenade all afternoon with this lovely dovey couple
he keeps trying to woo her.
I realised that I hadn't shared my host of golden daffodils with you
The lawn is full of hundreds of nodding golden heads.

Thank you for the concerns over the dog bite, I should have made it clear that the skin hasn't been broken, it was bleeding under the skin, its now tender and bruising has come out otherwise its fine.

Little Sunday hatched out this morning and is now in the brooder with the other two, the incubator has been washed out and set up again and now has another six duck eggs in it.

That's all for today :-)

  2. I am truly enjoying your blogs. My father owned a baby chick hatchery so all the incubator, brooder and hatching info is of special interest to me. You have such a large number of viewers because you write well and have successfully brought us into your new life. Thanks from Virginia, USA.

  3. It's all go in the garden at the moment. I've just (belatedly) bought some veg seeds from The Real Seed Company in Pembs (stayed there once and like to support them, plus they field trial everything, which is good as I know they will grow in a Welsh "summer"!)

Your tomato plants and lupins are doing well. I would love a proper poly tunnel when we move. They are so useful.

I have upteen packets of flower seeds to start off too and Dahlias going in pots. (Lidl had a great offer on Dahlias this week - 8 for £5 so I got two lots).

I hope your arm is healing now, but bereavement or no bereavement, her dogs should be under control . . .

  6. Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog, it's allowed me to come over and find your lovely blog. Your tomatoes are doing well, mine are still tiny things at the moment and I agree about growing plants from seed, it saves so much money rather than buying plants, especially if you want a large number. I've just had a quick look through a few earlier posts, you have alpacas! How wonderful. I'm going back to read more a little later when I have more time.

  7. My tomato plants died I think I put them out into the cold damp greenhouse too soon because I was decorating the room they were in. Picked up some more today so hoping I don't kill these! Looking at all your plants growing keeps me trying though :)

  8. I am not even trying to grow lupins from seed, considering I can't keep the ones I buy alive. Well, one plant survived. It looks like a nice kind of being busy in your garden. I hope the weather remains dry for you. x
