Bedroom and Lavender

Yes bit of a mixture but they do in fact go together, anyway a grey drizzly day here, so I concentrated on getting our bedroom finished, here it is.

And the other end
there is just a couple of bits to do in there now like put up the ceiling fan, that is hubby's department its electrical. We have plenty of storage space in here, they are fitted wardrobes behind the mirrors and the one that runs the length of the bed is double depth, you can get in there and walk around.
There is actually two windows in this room I didn't get the second one in the picture.
I also made a start on the utility room, trying to create some extra storage space

Again there is a window on both sides, hubby put some shelves up at the week end for me, the dishwasher is in here at the moment but that will be moved to the kitchen next week. I put together a grid shelf system
At some point this little room will be totally re-vamped.
How much more is there to sort

ALL OF THIS
This is what is still in the barn, it is going down slowly, I admit a lot of it is my my craft stuff, and once it has a new home (more on that later) the barn will quickly empty.
I was talking the other day about having a border of Lavender along the drive in this post  The Lavender driveway I ordered my lavender and it arrived today
I went for substantial sized plants and it was more cost effective to order them by the pallet, I went for English Lavender as it dries well and it can be used in cooking.
I got them from here Hedges Direct very quick and efficient delivery.
Unfortunately the lorry driver couldn't get his lorry up the drive, so with his help we both unloaded the pallet at the bottom of the drive and I collected them in my car, they smell delicious now I just have to get them all planted. :-)

  1. I wish I had more storage space but perhaps it's as well I haven't as I would gather more things. I have got rid of so much but it must breed...

Can smell the lavender... Mmmmm, lovely

  3. Love the grid shelf system, can I ask what it is. I could really use some of that in my utility. Love what you are doing, I had a lavender hedge at a previous house.
I made a lot of wheatie bags one year to sell, putting a scoop of lavender in before stitching up the hole. Wonderfull when heated in the microwave and put on an aching back. the lavender smelt a treat. Keep up the good work, I love your blog.

  7. Wow, you're still on full speed. I've decided that when we move in a year or so you can come visit and sort our new house out:) I have a lavender walkway along the path at the back of the house. I grew mine from tiny plugs though, it's looking and smelling gorgeous this year. Yours will reach maturity much more quickly than mine. I think lavender is wonderful.

    1. I chose lavender because it will be there all year round and is a great multi purpose plant.

  8. Your bedroom looks lovely. It's amazing how much sorting there is when you move house isn't it. How do we all acquire so much stuff?

The lavender hedge is my idea of heaven and funnily enough I was just considering buying a dozen plants to put a border outside our kitchen window while I was out today, I resisted the urge then but I don't think I'll be able to resist for long :-)
