After such a lovely day weather wise yesterday when I was going about outside chores without a jacket, today has just been wet wild and cold, that horrible drizzly rain with strong winds, apart from collecting in firewood and feeding animals it has been a day to stay indoors.
Most of the day i have spent down in the cabin, being ruthless with my stash, I have moved the units around and tables, and thrown out 4 recycling sacks of paper and card and packaging, just as well its dustbin day tomorrow, I have just been out and battled the weather taking the rubbish to the top of the drive.
The cabin is just about there now, tomorrow should see it all done.
I did put an order in today for Asparagus plants, seed potatoes and sweet potatoes,
the veggies are all sorted now for this year.
I also got the old Rayburn advertised for sale.
That just about sums up today, just lots of indoor stuff.
I need to be ruthless with my stash, I would have to live to 100 to use everything!
ReplyDeleteIt a nice feeling to know I have a clean slate to start from ;-)
DeleteSounds like you got plenty done to me! I sometimes think we ask a lot of ourselves. Some people do far less than us smallholders without having animals to look after/feed/muck out etc. and the land to care for.
ReplyDeleteGill
yes your right, just doing the daily routines takes up time :-)
DeleteIt sounds like a very busy day! Sorting stuff, moving it and making decisions is very hard work, so good on you for doing so much! xx
ReplyDeleteIt sometimes feels like i havent achived anything :-)
DeleteHi, just joined your blog. Reading your description in your heading, I could have been reading about myself - well up until I had to leave that lifestyle that is.
ReplyDeleteI miss it terribly, so now will follow your adventures whilst dreaming of 'getting back to the land.
I also love crafting.
welcome nice to have you drop in ;-)
DeleteThe weather has become extremely grotty, sounds like you've been busy. Apart from a small order of asparagus plants & a couple of packs of seed potatoes I think that will be me for this year.
ReplyDeleteour weather has been good one day bad the next and very unseasonable mild :-)
