There In There Somewhere

Yesterday I tackled another area that needed strimming

 This section borders the vegetable garden and the drive, waist high in grass and weeds, and in there somewhere is my nut trees

An hour later and its clear and once again my nut trees are released from the grasps of the weeds, there are six trees here, 3 of the cobs that are along the fence line I bought a few years ago impregnated with truffles in the roots, I must have a read up on the paper work that came with them about finding the truffles, if there is any.

At some point I want to add more nut trees to this area.

 The smelly sea weed stuff is ready to use, I fed the citrus trees last night with it, 1 pint to 2 gallons of water, 1/2 gallon for each tree.

 Limes

 Lemons

 Oranges

Satsumas

they all seem to be doing well in there new home and lots of new fruit has set  

They have two new additions in there area

These two trees arrived the other week and I planted them in the middle of the citrus, they are Avocado, they have been reared by a man in Holland who has been working on a strain of avocado that will grow and fruit in Europe, they can tolerate lower temperatures, I am trialing them in the poly tunnel alongside the citrus trees.

 The tomatoes are now all tied in and I will start training up the canes as cordons, and side shoots are being nipped out every few days,

 The Rainbow Eucalyptus trees that I grew from seed are now a few inches tall, I have managed to get three sturdy ones growing.

 I had to pop to Tesco the other day for shopping I haven't been for over a month, this was this months shopping list, I was going for animal feed so combined the two trips, had vouchers from Tesco's so the shopping didn't cost anything, the only things I couldn't get was Malt Extract and Lemon Pepper they are being delivered today from Amazon.

The white board in the kitchen is were milk yields and eggs are recorded then end of every week I transfer the totals into a book, can you see Thelma hasn't given milk for three mornings running, 

she is fine nothing wrong with her, the problem lies with one of her kids Helen, the kids are separated at night so we can milk in the morning, the past three mornings Helen has not been where she was put with the other kids the night before, she has managed to sneak back through to mum, well I have seen were she is doing it now and tonight she will not be sneaking off to mum, and if we continue to have a problem with her she will be locked in. 

The male kids will very soon be heading for the freezer they are as big as there mums now and have some impressive horns.

Right off to do some strimming have one more area to tackle.
