Getting Ready

We have some new additions arriving in just over a week
Martin has been busy getting there accommodation ready
There house is set up, water and feed troughs ready, we have bought in food, electric fencing all in place and checked.
We have 4 little girl piggies joining us, they will live in this area that has plenty of shelter and lots of good things for them to root up, if they escaped the electric fencing there is an external fencing around the area, so they wont get to wander far.
We got pigs the first year here now we are a bit more knowledgeable and the prospect is not as scary as first time round.

This week-end the last two lambs go, we haven't decided if we are getting bottle lambs next year or if we start on our own flock.

I am trying to arrange for a boyfriend to visit our lady goats as its time to get them in kid again, still not sure if Connie has been caught already, the other two Thelma and Helen haven't been caught (I don't think) but not showing signs of being in season.

It doesn't look like baby doves are on the cards just yet, they are not sitting on the eggs and yesterday I found one of the eggs on the ground discarded.

Diary

John milked Lucky and Sunny, then went and put 16 sheets galvanise on shed, up the drive dug a ditch down one side.
I scrubbed wallpaper in sitting room, wiped down roof beams, went and got magnolia emulsion £2.62 then emulsioned back wall and over paper.
Made 4 loaves of bread, shifted filing cabinet out of sitting room.

  3. Look forward to seeing your new additions. Sheep are really cheap here in Ireland at the moment. Cattle prices are poor too. They are blaming it on Brexit and the weak Pound.
