Yesterday we had to venture into town to pick up a few bits
Another collar for goat Helen, she lost her collar last week, don't know were it has gone, bought a spare while we were there.
Picked up some small straw bales for animal bedding, the small ones are easier for us to store and handle than the big one's.
More bags of cement, we also took back some downpipes that were delivered when we ordered guttering, just a straight swap over.
I also wanted a small bookcase for my cabin.
The only other shop I popped into was the pound shop
I needed a new desk diary for my sowing growing and harvesting records
I also got some new ring binders, these are for doing inventories of the freezers and store cupboards, a little task to do on the next rainy day.
Shopping done we headed home, Martin go the last of the guttering up on the Alpaca shelter, the guttering diverts rainwater into an IBC tank, we have a water trough for them underneath, its now all complete apart from adding another hay rack and putting there feed troughs back inside.
Dinner last night
Pan fried scallops with chorizo, samphrie cooked in garlic butter, Sweet potato fries.
It was very very yummy 😀
Oh Dawn, I haven't seen samphire since I left Tydd,where did you get it? I need a couple of diaries and another calendar, I will have to haul myself off to the shops later.

Its very similar to asparagus and is not salty at all
DeleteAs Sheila said, the samphire looks very nice. I've never tried it either but there aren't many veggies I don't like.

Sales on diaries usually start in March, this one was only £1

DeleteYummy meal, and a good round of shopping for what you needed to buy. I used to have a pony which lost headcollars the way Helen loses collars and always went for really bright colours after that so they would show up in the long grass.
ReplyDeleteI had a weak moment in the sales today - and I NEVER normally go to the Sales, but noticed M&S had an up to 60% off sale and got myself a warm jumper and a pretty top for less than what one of them would have cost.
She had a right red collar, looked everywhere no sign of it think she must have eaten it
DeleteYour dinner looks wonderful! We've had wild samphire before when camping by the beach, our local fish monger sells it, $10 for 150g I'm like NO WAY! I guess at that price it's a garnish ha!
ReplyDeleteMy daughters horse has lost his fly mask several times this summer. We're hoping to pick up a bright purple or white one next time we go to the saddlery to keep the seek and find missions shorter ;) when she works at the stables, they often get her or the other juniors to find their horses lost fly masks....their property is 4000 acres hahahahahahaha.
We check there collars for wear and tear and hers was fine she hadnt had it long before losing it.
